Create a course overview within D2L.

IMPORTANT: All students are shown the overview when they first visit your course content, so we would like if this area is not empty. However, while it may look like a good place for your syllabus, please DO NOT post your syllabus here. The overview area is unique in that the ReadSpeaker does not work here. This cause problems with accessibility specific only to the overview area. DO NOT post your syllabus in the overview area. Instead, post an actual overview of what your course is all about. A captioned video in this area would be an excellent idea!

1. Click "Content" from course homepage, and then click "Overview".

2. Click "Add a welcome message, overview, or description..." to edit.

3. Add an overview of the course.

Some recommendations include a captioned welcome video, a description of the course, and basic navigation tips. Please remember that the ReadSpeaker will not work for items placed in the overview section.
