Respondus Lockdown Browser and Monitor Settings
The following instructions are broken down by the instructor's desired use of Respondus Lockdown Browser and Monitor and provides instructions for which options need to be enabled for each use case. Please look through all of them before following any instructions to be sure it is the use case you wish to use for your quiz/exam.

If you are an instructor who is providing students with the option of using a test proctor OR to use Respondus Monitor for this exam:
- The setting for this is under Respondus Monitor advanced settings.
- You will set "Require Respondus Lockdown Browser for this exam".
- Enter a password for the exam in the "Access code for this exam (optional)" field. (This password is only to be given to the exam proctors, not to the students.)
- In the Proctoring section, enable "Require Respondus Monitor (automated proctoring) for this exam".
- Set any other options you require, and then scroll down to "Advanced Settings" and check the box next to "Allow this exam to additionally be delivered in a proctored lab (no webcam recording).
- Click Save + Close.

If you are an instructor who is ONLY using Respondus Lockdown Browser in a proctored environment:
- You will only need to do the following:
- Enable "Require Respondus Lockdown Browser for this exam".
- Under the "Password Settings", enter a password in the "Access code for this exam (optional)" field.
- Click Save + Close.

If you are an instructor who is only requiring the use of Respondus Lockdown Browser for quizzes/exams on the student's personally owned device (or library borrowed Chromebook or laptop). You will only need to do the following:
- Enable "Require Respondus Lockdown Browser for this exam". .
- Click Save + Close.

If you are an instructor who is only requiring the use of Respondus Lockdown Browser with Respondus Monitor on the student's personally owned device (or library borrowed Chromebook or laptop), you will only need to do the following:
- Enable "Require Respondus Lockdown Browser for this exam".
- Enable "Require Respondus Monitor (automated proctoring) for this exam.
- Set any other settings you desire.
- Click Save + Close.
